I first got Dean’s attention when I gracefully started to side-shuffle on a treadmill next to him just as an excuse to say hello. Initially, Dean made me feel giddy and excited. He still does, but today Dean also makes me feel confident, protected, and immensely loved. I’m so excited to marry my “Dean the Dream”.
My friendship with Mary Clare seemed to come so naturally. Every time we spoke, I saw something more than I did the time before. Then, like a switch had been flipped, the person who was just a friend was the only person I could ever imagine myself with. I feel like I waited my whole life for her... she is my destiny!
Throughout the spring, we would see each other at the gym daily. Our talks became walks, those walks became runs, and our runs ultimately led to our first date. On a beautiful July day, Dean asked me to meet him for coffee. Time flew by and, before we knew it, we were finishing lunch down the road at The Otesaga. Our cautious pace continued into the late summer when we shared our first kiss.

It all started during the winter of 2011 along a row of fitness equipment at the Clark Sports Center when a mutual friend introduced us. I tossed Dean a line: you look just like a guy I know. Dean replied wittily, “well, he must be one hell of a good looking guy!” … we both caught each other’s attention. Due to our age difference, a romance seemed unlikely, but our attraction to one another was undeniable.

Dean proposed on November 18, 2016. I had planned to have dinner with my dad that night and he insisted the two of us go to The Otesaga early to “check out the fire bar” (something we’ve both seen countless times) before dinner. Upon our arrival on the beautiful veranda, I noticed red roses on a nearby table and large wooden letters on the grass below that read, “Marry Me”. I thought nothing of it, even as “Marry Me” by Train started to play, until Dean came out and proudly stood by the letters. It was a very special and romantic moment!

The ceremony will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 @ St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 31 Elm Street
Cooperstown, NY
The ceremony will begin @ 4:00 PM. There will be a full Catholic mass lasting approximately one hour.
We have made a short list of accommodations for you to review. This includes a great deal at The Otesaga Resort Hotel, which is the venue for our reception.
The cocktail hour and reception will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 @ The Otesaga Resort Hotel, Cooperstown, NY
The cocktail hour will begin @ 5:30 PM on the veranda at The Otesaga. Adult beverages and music will commence. Dinner and dancing to follow.
Both friends and family make up our wedding party, and we're honored to have them by our side.
